When you first started your business, everything was exciting
It was fun
You had energy
Everything could be overcome with simple plain hard work
Everything else was put on hold
If you just put in the hard yards now, you would get it back in spades later
But that was a little while ago now
It’s still exciting, and you still love it
And it’s starting to pay off
but it’s hard!
You’ve been working hard for a long time, and what’s the future hold?
More of the same!
You’re in the entrepreneurial trap!
You’ve created a monster, and now it’s eating you!
You may not have the solution, but you must know by now that
Hard work won’t get you there.
You’re not alone
It happened to me too
My business was all-consuming
The family, me and everything else was all put on hold
I had, had enough
I am a slow learner because it wasn’t until my3rd business that ai worked out what was wrong
It was me
I didn’t know my place
My place in the business
I was doing everything because it was easier if I did it myself
After all, no one else could do it as well as me
But that couldn’t last, it had to change
I had to change
It was affecting everything, my business was suffering It was affecting everything, my business was suffering, my customers had become annoying because I was trying to be everything for everyone
I set about changing me, my expectation
Not worrying about everything, only what was important
Where I was going, where my business was going
I found my place in the business and found where my business needed to be in the market
I positioned myself and my business so that we could provide solutions to people we wanted to serve
I created targets, and how I was going to achieve them
I didn’t always achieve them (I’m not superman), but I had a purpose
My business moved forward almost without me
Then the rewards came not just financial, something better
Time, my time
And sleep I started sleeping and enjoying myself away from work, away from my phone
The change wasn’t easy but it was simple
I changed 3 things
I found my purpose – where I was going, where my business was going
I found my place
And I positioned my business
You can learn how I achieved a business that grew without me, how it became more than me
Which made it attractive, to my employees, to me and to the people I sold it to.
